Description
In Bleach we already talked about how SZAYELAPORRO GRANTZ is basically the mad scientist of the Espada, constantly experimenting on everybody around him and obsessing over the idea of becoming a PERFECT life-form that can’t truly die, but Bleach Brave Souls actually gives us a version of this character where he pushes that idea EVEN FURTHER, because Szayelaporro is one of the Espada who receives an original transformation commonly called BEYOND RESURRECCION. Now this form was created for the Can’t Fear Your Own World collaboration in Brave Souls, and the whole concept behind these forms is imagining what different Arrancar might look like if they unlocked a power GREATER than their normal Resurreccion, which with Szayelaporro is already kinda terrifying because his original release FORNICARAS was one of the most disgusting abilities in the series. Normally Szayelaporro transforms into this giant winged creature with tentacles spreading out behind him, allowing him to create clones, make voodoo dolls of somebody’s organs and even use his GABRIEL ability to basically reincarnate himself inside another person if his original body is destroyed, but his Beyond Resurreccion takes that obsession with rebirth and turns it into the ENTIRE theme of his existence. In this new form Szayelaporro looks way less human, with his body taking on this strange almost AVIAN appearance, as large pink and black wing-like structures extend out from his back alongside these long tail-like appendages covered in eye-shaped markings, while his lower body becomes more birdlike and his fingers sharpen into claws. Even his face looks more unnatural with these pink spiritual decorations extending around it, and sitting right in the center of his chest is the source of this new transformation, the HOGYOKU, because like the other Espada who receive these special forms, the idea is that Szayelaporro has reached a completely new level of Hollow evolution.
