Description
In One Piece the HEART PIRATES might be the most UNDERRATED pirate crew in the entire series, because while everybody knows how ridiculously powerful TRAFALGAR LAW is, people tend to forget that his crew has saved LUFFY'S LIFE TWICE, fought against an EMPEROR, and might actually be one of the most dangerous groups to encounter at SEA. Now the Heart Pirates are a crew originally formed in the NORTH BLUE, led by Trafalgar D. Water Law, otherwise known as the SURGEON OF DEATH, and unlike most famous pirate crews, these guys don't travel around on a giant wooden battleship. Instead, their ship is a massive YELLOW SUBMARINE called the POLAR TANG, which allows them to travel beneath the ocean, launch surprise attacks and escape from enemies who can't even follow them underwater. Their Jolly Roger is also pretty unusual because instead of a traditional skull and crossbones, it's basically a giant SMILING FACE, possibly referencing Law's former savior CORAZON, who wanted Law to remember him smiling. And while Law is obviously the strongest member of the crew, thanks to the OPE OPE NO MI and his enormous THREE BILLION BERRY bounty, the rest of the Heart Pirates are FAR more useful than people give them credit for. First there's BEPO, a polar bear Mink who serves as the crew's NAVIGATOR, and despite constantly apologizing to people, he's actually a capable martial artist who can transform into the terrifying SULONG FORM. Then we have SHACHI and PENGUIN, two of Law's oldest companions who specialize in fighting UNDERWATER, which becomes incredibly important later. There's also JEAN BART, a gigantic former pirate captain who was enslaved by the Celestial Dragons until Law freed him at Sabaody, and now he serves as one of the crew's strongest physical defenders. Other members include IKKAKU, UNI, CLIONE and HAKUGAN, who help operate the submarine and keep the crew functioning while Law is busy fighting. But the real reason these guys deserve respect is their actual HISTORY, because during the MARINEFORD WAR, Law and his crew suddenly arrive in their submarine to rescue a dying Luffy after his battle with the Marines. They bring Luffy aboard, perform emergency medical treatment and manage to escape from the battlefield, meaning there's a VERY good chance the future Pirate King wouldn't even be alive without them.
