Avatar Roku Reveals Zuko Is His GREAT Grandson... #ATLA #Avatar #Comics In Avatar the Last Airbender after Katara tells Aang that she’s worried they won’t get to have a future together because he’s so dead set on forcing the different nations to STAY APART in order to prevent conflict, Aang goes off on the side sitting on a cliff face as he begins to meditate using his Avatar Necklace to connect with Avatar Roku, with Aang telling Roku about the dream he had last night where he was about to kill Zuko with Roku standing there egging him on, but that’s exactly what Roku does as the first words out of his mouth are to tell Aang that he NEEDS to fulfill his promise by killing Zuko to restore the Harmony movement, causing Aang to tell Roku that lately he’s realized how much he LOVES being an Air Nomad and wouldn’t want to be any other kind of bender, saying that if he turns his back on his people’s philosophy wouldn’t that mean that his people are finally dead? Beyond that, he’s also in love with a water bender girl, how could the Harmony Restoration movement really be right if in his heart he himself can’t even follow it in his own home? In response, Roku tells Aang that none of that matters, because as the Avatar, the health of EVERY nation has to be held ABOVE just the nation that the avatar comes from, and even has to be more important than their friends, their loves, their family… all of it.
