Video Transcript:
Step 1. Open the Settings app on your iPhone or iPad, and then tap "General."

Step 2. Tap "AirPlay and Continuity." The associated screen opens.

Step 3. Tap to toggle on "Keep Audio with Headphones." Going forward, your audio will stay in your headphones even when other playback devices like cars and speakers connect to your iPhone or iPad. You can still switch to another device manually from Control Center whenever you want.

If you use AirPods and they keep jumping between your own Apple devices, like your iPhone, iPad, and Mac, there's a separate setting for that. With your AirPods connected, open Settings, tap "Bluetooth," and then tap the "Info" icon next to your AirPods. Tap "Audio and Routing," tap "Connect to This iPhone," and then select "When Last Connected to This iPhone." Your AirPods will now only connect automatically if this was the last device they were connected to. Keep in mind you'll need to change this setting on each Apple device you own to completely stop the switching.
