Step 1. Open a web browser, navigate to claude.ai, and then log in to your Claude account if you're not logged in already.
Step 2. Click your profile icon in the bottom left corner of the screen to open a menu, and then click "Settings." The Settings screen is displayed.
Step 3. Navigate to the Account section, and then find the field labeled "What should Claude call you?"
Step 4. Click inside that field, delete the current name, and then type the name you want Claude to use. Claude will use this name in your conversations going forward.
It's worth noting that the "What should Claude call you?" field is separate from the "Full name" field right above it. Your full name is tied to your account, while this field only controls what Claude calls you in chats, so you can use a nickname here without changing your account name.
