Until - Was Aang WRONG About Fire Lord Ozai...? #Avatar #avatarthelastairbender #comics #atla In Avatar the Last Airbender, after Aang and his friends have caught Councilwoman Liling, the morning comes and we see Liling’s daughters sitting in their palace as they debate strategies for going to free their mom, with Yaling feeling like the best plan would be to draw them out and make a very public spectacle, however Ru thinks they should sneak in at night and try to break Liling free, sparking a bit of a disagreement between the two sisters. Back in town, Katara sits on a bench thinking to herself as Aang walks up asking her what’s wrong, and Katara reinforces that she just can’t agree with Toph’s plan to remove Liling’s bending, but Aang isn’t sure. He says that he IS thinking about it because Toph is right that a non-bender probably can’t lead an army of benders to get rid of other non-benders, and removing her bending might be the only non-violent way of putting all of this to rest, but Katara says that for her, Water bending is part of who she is, it’s not just something she can do, it’s a massive part of her culture and her personal identity, so if she lost that she doesn’t know WHO she’d become. Doesn’t that mean that removing someone’s bending is anything BUT Non-violent? How can it be non-violent to rip away part of what makes a person who they are, as Katara questions whether Liling’s crimes REALLY measure up to her deserving this kind of punishment, but breaking up this little side convo we have SATORU who runs in with some bad news, because the BUSINESS council building is under ATTACK as they arrive and find it engulfed in flames.
