An incredible chase of Escanaba and Lake Superior (E&LS) locomotives ELS 600 (FP7A) and ELS 400 (GP38) as they battle a massive consist North to Channing, Michigan! Watch as these classic engines open up the throttle to climb the heavy grade just north of the Sagola mill, putting on an absolute show for railfans.
What started as an 80-car chase turned into an unexpected, hour-long switching puzzle at the Channing wye. To clear the path, the crew had to shove well over 100 railcars backward to the north. The move was so massive that the conductor ended up over a mile away, leaving Johnny temporarily trapped on the wrong side of the tracks!
