Description
Chasing the Escanaba and Lake Superior Railroad (ELS) and Canadian National (CN) through Wisconsin!
I made it to Beecher, WI just in time to see ELS 600 and 400 preparing to head south to pick up the train the SD9s left sitting last week. Meanwhile, ELS 1224 was heading north with gondolas and some loaded Mega Log Haulers bound for the mill in Sagola.
After catching the SD9 in Pembine, I followed the other train south. A brakeman was waiting at Amberg-Wausaukee Road, walking to the back of the train to prepare it for departure. They took empty propane cars back to Pembine after dropping a few cars off at the Beecher Yard.
From there, they ran light back to Beecher to grab empty pulp-cars and propane destined for Crivitz, WI. I caught them leaving, but decided to pivot and watch Canadian National CN 5404 pull out all those scrap iron gondolas and add them to an already massive train! After catching CN over the defect detector, I raced down to Crivitz just in time to see ELS 600 and 400 arrive right as the rain set in...
