About this video: You have found our complete guide on how to make a Minecraft server. We will walk you through everything from downloading the Java server files to starting your server, joining it yourself, and allowing your friends to connect. By the end of this video, you will have your own Minecraft Java Edition server up and running on your PC.

To get started, you will need to download the Minecraft Java server files. To find these, search “Minecraft Java Server Files” on Google and open our server files download page. This page lets you download the server.jar file for the Minecraft version you want your server to run. Find your version, click the download button next to it, and the server.jar file will begin downloading.

From there, create a new folder on your desktop and name it something like “Minecraft Server.” Move the server.jar file you downloaded into this folder, and then double-click it. The server will attempt to start and generate the files and folders it needs. If nothing happens when you open the server.jar file, you most likely need to download Java or run the Jarfix.

Next, open the eula.txt file that was generated in your server folder. Inside this file, change “eula=false” to “eula=true,” assuming you agree to the Minecraft EULA. Save the file, close it, and double-click the server.jar file again. This time, your Minecraft server will fully start.

You can now open Minecraft Java Edition, click “Multiplayer,” and add a new server using “localhost” as the server address. Only you can connect using localhost, but this is the best way to test your server and make sure everything is working correctly. You can also use the server console to give yourself operator permissions and run server commands.

For your friends to join, you will need to port forward port 25565 using both the TCP and UDP protocols. There is a complete guide on port forwarding linked in the description above. Once port forwarding is configured, your friends can connect to the server using your public IP address whenever the server is running.

With that, you now know how to make a Minecraft server. If you have any questions, let us know in the comments. We will try our best to help you out. Otherwise, be sure to give the video a thumbs up and subscribe to the channel if you haven't already. It really helps us out, and it means a ton to me. Thank you very, very much in advance!
