Young children among the most vulnerable to Ebola in DR Congo

Description

Pediatrician Rupa Narra explains how children are paying a devastating price in the Ebola disease outbreak unfolding in northeastern Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC).

Children in DRC are often becoming infected at health facilities, not at their homes. Until health facilities at every level have stronger infection prevention and control measures for both patients and staff, Ebola will continue to spread within them.

There needs to be a child-centered approach at the heart of medical care, operational planning, and research efforts.
