Do different races of people have different accents? On the surface, this sounds ridiculous, as anyone from any country can speak any language in any dialect, however there may be some truth to this as everyone is aware that on average different racial groups in America tend to speak in different dialects, with different tone, pitch, vocabulary and inflection. This can partially be explained by various environmental and cultural factors that influence the way these different groups speak, especially considering the US is still partially de facto racially segregated and different racial communities will have different experiences and influences growing up speaking English as a first or second language. Of course, there is a large degree of overlap and linguistic exchange between all groups in the country but there is the question of whether different races actually have different sounds to their voices on average, which I suppose is possible and intuitively seems like it could be correct, however I have yet to see any serious studies on the matter, so it's impossible to say for sure. The different dialects of American English will continue to change and evolve in strange and interesting ways in the future among all peoples of the nation. Thanks for watching
