Video 6 - Welcome back to my Comprehensive Silicone Doll Painting Course!
In this video, we're continuing to build up those beautiful, delicate layers of colour that help give our silicone babies their realistic newborn appearance.
This time, we're working with cool red and yellow ochre, two wonderfully useful colours for creating those soft, natural newborn skin tones.
I'll show you how I use a very dilute, pinky cool red to gently add colour to the fleshy areas of our baby, including the cheeks, palms, soles, fingertips, toes and lips. We'll then introduce yellow ochre to help balance the skin tones, soften any overly purple areas and bring a little more natural warmth to our baby.
We'll also have a chat about matting powders, why it's important to use good-quality products, and how a light dusting of powder can help us see how our colours will look once the silicone has its finished matte appearance.
As always, remember that there are no hard and fast rules when it comes to creating your perfect silicone baby. I'm sharing the techniques I've developed over the years, but I hope you'll also feel confident enough to experiment and discover what works best for you.
