Description
Video 4 – Finish veining and undertones, blush warming layer
Welcome back to Video 4 of my Comprehensive Silicone Doll Painting Course!
In this lesson, we're continuing to build up those lovely, delicate layers of colour that help bring our silicone baby to life.
We'll be adding some subtle cool shadows using cyan and magenta, particularly around the back, behind the knees and on those gorgeous little feet. I'll also show you how I introduce a few delicate veins and begin warming the skin with a beautiful, translucent crimson oxide blush.
We'll talk about mixing our colours, keeping our paint layers lovely and transparent, and why it's so important not to rush the process. You'll even see me adjust a colour that's a little stronger than I intended — because that's all part of painting!
I'll also chat a little about pigment choices and some concerns surrounding the long-term stability of certain red pigments.
Remember, we're aiming for the delicate, slightly mottled appearance of a very young newborn, and it's all those subtle little layers that eventually create such beautiful realism.
So, pop the kettle on, get comfortable, and come and paint along with me!
Happy painting!
