The Problem With Chasing Pitching Velocity Too Early

The Movement Underground Short 5 days ago

Description

Chasing a higher radar-gun number without managing throwing workload is an incomplete development plan.

Velocity training changes the demands placed on a young pitcher’s arm.

That’s why I want to know the athlete’s age, training history, throwing volume, recovery, and overall physical capacity before increasing the intensity.

The goal isn’t just to throw harder.

It’s to develop performance while respecting the athlete’s ability to tolerate the workload.
Velocity without a plan is not development.
