Onshape CAD Challenge 1.19 — In this session, we will create a mechanical CAD model step-by-step from its orthographic drawing.
We begin with the top view, create the basic profile, apply the required dimensions, and then build the remaining features using sketches, extrusion and fillet operations.
The model involves:
- Creating the initial profile from the Top Plane
- Applying dimensions to the rectangular profile
- Creating and positioning Ø8 mm holes
- Adding the 5 mm plate thickness
- Creating the additional profile from the Front Plane
- Using a 25 mm fillet
- Creating the side feature from another sketch
- Applying the required dimensions
- Extruding and merging the features
- Checking the completed 3D model from different views
