Description
Day 1 post-op.
Couldn't bend the knee.
Couldn't walk without the crutches.
Couldn't sleep without the knee throbbing...
And while the pain sets in, your brain goes into overdrive thinking...
"Will I ever be the same?"
This is Gabby on day 1 of her ACL journey...
8 months later...she's in here loading bars, moving with purpose, and trusting her body again like the surgery never happened.
Here's what I wish more athlete's knew before they went under...
The tissue heals faster than the fear.
The fear is the real rehab.
The doubt is the real opponent.
The voice that says "what if this is as good as it gets"...
that's what you're actually fighting.
And you can't beat it by resting.
You don't beat it by being careful.
You beat it by showing up.
Rep by rep.
Week by week.
Every session where you feel like giving up... but came anyway.
Then one day it "clicks"
And you realize you're not the same athlete you were before...
You're a different one.
To every athlete in that hospital bed right now...
To every parent watching from the sideline...
To every kid 3 months in wondering if this is as good as it gets...
It's not.
Gabby is proof.
And you haven't even started yet.
Save this. Send it to someone who needs to see it.
Comment STRATEGY if you're stuck in your ACL recovery and need a redirection.
