Description
The passage of time reveals how we have begun and how we have grown into something else. As she looks at the barren land in front of her, Shona Lunar feels a rush of emotion and motivation, just like she did when she was a child.

Hi there, everyone. Here is the newest animatic I've been working on throughout the month; it's another short piece based on a short audio or music segment. Like my previous two short animatics, I ensured that this one involved a lot of hard work, care, and effort. Unlike the animatic I uploaded last month, this one is inspired by a short cover of a music piece from a Disney movie.
As I mentioned earlier, this animatic is based on a cover of a music piece from a Disney film. The movie in question is The Lion King, and the cover of the piece called ‘King of Pride Rock’ was performed by the talented @CullenVance . I’ve had this piece for a long time, and last year, whenever I listened to his short cover, I kept thinking about creating something with it. I was waiting for the right moment to try it out, and I finally decided to give it a go this year. Plus, my OC x Fire Emblem/Fantasy AU ideas helped flesh out the concept and potential story.
Visually, the colour palette was inspired by an animatic by the talented @PaintedSerenity, particularly by the way they used different shades of grey and white, which is linked earlier in this description. I made some tweaks to differentiate it and to match the tone I wanted for this animatic. The main idea was to show the contrast between Shona Lunar at two life stages, similar to how I imagine cub Simba and adult Simba at the end of the film, when he’s climbing Pride Rock. I ensured the colours worked well together and that the contrast between the two versions of my OC wasn’t too harsh or jarring. I worked diligently on each frame to make sure they were expressive, detailed, and full of care.
Initially, I considered adding dialogue and audio at the beginning and end, but in the end, I decided to leave them out to encourage viewers to imagine what the characters might be thinking or saying. Please be cautious with the volume, as the music will pop into the video unexpectedly, and I don’t want to startle anyone. This is another Fire Emblem and Fantasy AU animatic; while it incorporates more designs and visuals inspired by Fire Emblem Engage, it retains a fantasy vibe and might not immediately read as Fire Emblem-related like my previous animatic. As with before, this takes place in an alternate universe, not in the present-day universe of my original characters.
I'll be working on my next animatic/video soon, but as usual, I’ll take my time with it. Please be patient until it’s finished and uploaded here for everyone to enjoy. Rest assured, I’ll do my best to complete it as quickly as possible.
Aside from that, I hope you enjoy this animatic. Please check out the artists and creators I mentioned because they truly deserve recognition and because they’re incredibly talented, too.
