Hi there, guys and Happy Pride Month to you all. Here is the newest animatic I had a head start on last month and worked on throughout this month, too. This is also one I worked on for Pride month, even if it is a short animatic compared to last year’s one.
I wanted to change it up a bit for Pride month this year, and that’s when I got the idea to make another short animatic, since they’ve been doing well so far these past few months. Earlier this year, there was a piece of music I thought would be perfect for Pride month and for Bumbleby. However, I was concerned that the audio would block the video in most countries and places around the world. So the song used here was my backup plan and still worked with what I wanted to do. I also wanted to make another Bumbleby-related animatic because it had been a while since I made the last one, and I wanted to make another one with them in it. As mentioned before, I thought I’d change the tone for this Pride Month’s animatic and go with something more chill, gentle, and cute, and still tie into this month in a way, even subtly.
The colouring for this is based on and inspired by the way the incredibly talented Luck Buggy, who made a few animatics for @LydiatheBard on YouTube, colours their work. I wanted to try something different with the shading and lighting with this. So I played with different types of brush/paint brush pens in Sketchbook Pro, which is what I use to draw my animatic and my drawings, too. The result of this experimenting and playing around with pens and materials in my program is what you see here. With the colours, though, I made sure they weren’t too much or too sore on the eyes, both with the sections that are mostly purple shades and the ending scenes that are in brighter colours. If they are too bright, then I do apologize. I did the best I could regarding it.
I will be working on my next animatic/video, but that’ll take a little longer than usual as I have some things coming up in July that are very important. I will address this closer to the start of July in my community section. So, until my next video/animatic is done and uploaded here for you all to enjoy, please be patient until then. However, I will work hard on it and get it done as soon as possible.
