Description
Sometimes, no matter what you have and how strong you are, the other side and force will take over and try to stop you. For Shona Lunar, the creature she faced became too much for her to fight off and battle against. Now it’s Joey Nightwing’s turn. Let the battle commence!

Hi there guys, here is the newest animatic I have been working on during October and a small bit of September, too. This was originally going to be somewhat of a Halloween animatic, but I decided to change it and make it a normal animatic and upload it between the end of Halloween and the beginning of the Christmas months. So, in other words, Novemberween.
This was an idea and an idea for an animatic I had a month or two before this time of the year. I listened to the short cover of the ending section of John Powell’s piece called Downed Dragon from How to Train Your Dragon a good while ago before making this, performed by the amazingly talented Cullen Vance. After multiple replays and loops of the short, I quickly got this idea, this animatic, and the characters too in my mind and I knew I had to create this and make it into a video for you all to see and enjoy. However, I also knew I wanted to try something with this in tone, lighting, and detail. Whilst still doing it in my art style, I wanted to push certain parts of it and make it visually interesting and fun, but still easy on the eyes to look at, especially in the second part when the music kicks in. This is why I started working on this near the end of September. So that I could work on this and try and bring what I had pictured to life through the music that inspired it. As mentioned earlier in this description, certain parts of this animatic were inspired by different YouTubers and YouTube artists and these inspirations are in certain sections of this animatic. From Mailleur_Maker’s amazing expressive eyes (especially the angry one for this animatic) to the quick black-and-white transitions that were made for transformations and cuts in some of RubberRoss’ amazing and fun Gartic Phone animation videos. These little things helped me with certain parts of this animatc and also inspired it further. However, I still added my own twist to them to make them work for this animatic and for these characters too.
The dialogue was added to this as I thought it would be fun to try that again after doing that for the More Than Anything animatic I made a while ago this year. Plus, I thought it would give some context to this animatic, without spoiling anything or fully ruining what I wanted to convey in this animatic. This is the same for the rain sound effects. I wanted to add a rain-like effect/look to this to make the tone more interesting and different from the other animatics I made this year and the most recent ones too. However, with the rain sound effects, I made sure that whilst they were loud enough to hear and add some ambiance to this, I made sure that it wasn’t too loud to overpower the music, as I wanted that part to be important. However, I still ensured it was somewhat there and could be heard in that section of this video.
Whilst I did take my time making this and working on every single frame of this animatic, I still made sure to get it done as soon as possible for you all to see and enjoy. The result of all of this and what I brought up is what you see here in the final version/product and I am honestly beyond happy with how it turned out.
I will be working on my next animatic soon, but I’m not sure if it’ll be made for either December or November, it’ll be up before the end of this year. So, in the meantime, please be patient until then and until the next video is up for you all to see and enjoy because I will certainly be busy with the next video and other art-related things until then.
