Description
The clock is winding down to Election Day on Tuesday, and in Washington, you have five choices to make for the Washington Supreme Court.
“Increasingly, the Supreme Court is playing a role in our daily lives, more than it used to,” Todd Myers, Vice President of Research at the Washington Policy Center, said.
"We are really watching this election with bated breath,” Courtney Normand, Washington State Director for Planned Parenthood Alliance Advocates, said.
With so many seats on the ballot, Normand said she worries about the future of the court impacting various rights Washingtonians have right now.
"Washington has passed so many proactive laws protecting our bodily autonomy, our rights, and our freedoms,” she said. “And they could bring forward challenges not only to reproductive freedom, but to LGBTQ+ rights, voting rights."
Normand said that it is important voters do not become complacent when thinking of those issues
