Description
The UK is currently in a shortage of Propranolol MR and it’s forced me to switch from the 80mg modified release tablets I’ve been on for years to 10mg immediate-release pills.
I’ll be honest, the whole thing stressed me out more than it probably should have. Trying to get the prescription sorted, not being able to speak to a doctor properly about the change, being told it would be ready and then it wasn’t… it just added fuel to the fire when my anxiety was already on edge.
In this video, I talk about what actually happened, how the switch has felt so far, and whether the 10mg tablets might actually be a better fit for me long term. It’s early days, but so far the transition hasn’t been the disaster I feared. In fact, my head feels clearer than it has in a long time.
This isn’t medical advice, just my honest experience navigating the UK propranolol shortage and a medication change I didn’t plan for.
If you’ve been affected by the shortage or had to switch doses, I’d genuinely like to hear how you’ve found it.
