There's No Such Thing as Over Socializing a Puppy

Description

People keep saying adult dog problems come from “over-socializing” puppies.

I don’t buy it.

I’m out on the agility course walking through what early socialization actually looks like: puppies with other puppies, puppies with older dogs, motorcycles, ATVs, a side-by-side, a tractor, a truck, a kid’s scooter, a kayak, and a pool.

There is no such thing as over-socialization. Early inter-species, intra-species, and environmental exposure is how you take advantage of the developmental window instead of wasting it.

The problems people blame on “too much socialization” usually come from an imbalance: lots of stimulation and not enough basic obedience. Socialization and obedience work together. One without the other is how you get a busy, untrained dog.

Pause the video and comment anytime you see something these puppies would be better off skipping. I’ll wait.

Don’t buy the “can’t do” attitude coming off social media dog training. I’ve been running this same system on YouTube for years. The dogs show the results.
