I am back with another Pinktober painting for Breast Cancer Awareness Month, and apparently pink likes to keep me on my toes. For this one, I used several of the same pink colors from my last painting, including magenta, quinacridone rose, pearl red, a metallic pink, and one of my table scraping colors. I decided to try a straight pour this time and just see where the colors took me. And y’all... I was NOT convinced at first.
There was one section I really did not like, and for a few minutes I was seriously considering layering another cup and pouring over it. But once I started stretching everything out, the whole painting changed. The center opened up, the pearlescent colors started showing through, and suddenly I loved it. Which is pretty funny considering how many times I have told all of you to trust the process. Apparently I needed my own advice this week. 😂
The final painting dried soft, feminine, shimmery, and very fitting for Pinktober. I am so glad I left it alone and let it become what it wanted to be. Hope you enjoy the video! Thank you so much for watching. Happy painting!
