Description
For this painting, I wanted to try the opposite of a design I had done before. Instead of keeping the color through the center and negative space on the ends, I put the color around the outside and swiped everything inward, leaving the negative space through the middle. That sounded simple enough in my head. 😂
It was definitely harder than I expected! I used the same soft pastel rainbow colors and worked them into this winding, almost rope-like design around the canvas. There were a few moments where I thought I had messed up the placement, but once I started swiping and stretching everything out, it really came together.
I love how bright the colors stayed and how the open center gives your eye somewhere to rest. At the end, I also show both paintings side by side so you can see how different the same general idea can look just by changing where the negative space goes. Hope you enjoy the video!
