About this video: OptiFine is not out for Minecraft 26.3 yet, so this video shows you how to get pretty much all of its features use alternative mods. Luckily, we put all of these mods together in our modpack NotiFine. This pack has nearly everything OptiFine has feature-wise, and it gets updated a lot quicker.
To begin, you may not want the whole modpack. Go to the NotiFine CurseForge page linked in the description above. Click the "Files" tab. Then, click on the most recent 26.3 version. Open the full page for that file. Go to "Related Projects", and you will see every single mod that makes up NotiFine.
From there, you can pick and choose only the mods you want. For example, you could get Sodium for a performance boost and Iris Shaders for shader pack support. You can also go beyond that with mods for Better Grass Textures and OptiFine cape support.
However, you will probably want to install everything all at once. To do that, you will need the CurseForge app, which is linked in the description above. On the download page, click "Download Standalone". Then, CurseForge installs just like any other program.
When you open CurseForge for the first time, you will see Minecraft, but it will be grayed out. Click on it anyway. After that, confirm your Minecraft setup, and login if needed.
You will then land on the "My Modpacks" tab. Type "NotiFine" into the search bar at the top and download the modpack.
Play the NotiFine modpack, and Minecraft will open up with all of the OptiFine 26.3 alternative mods installed.
If you go to "Options" in-game, and select “Video Settings", you will see all of the different option syou can change. Genatlly, you will want to turn things down and set them to off or fast for the best performance. Out of the box though, NotiFine is confirmed to give you good FPS while still making the game playable.
You can enable and use any OptiFine shaders for 26.3 as well giving you full shader support. The shader menu is on the left-hand side of video settings.
