About this video: A Fabric server lets you and your friends play Fabric mods together, and this video shows you how to make one in Minecraft 26.3.

First things first, download the Fabric installer from the link in the description above. That will take you to our site where you will be able to click “Download” and then click “Download for Windows” to download the installer.

Then, create a folder on your desktop called "Fabric Server 26.3". Open the Fabric Installer file you downloaded, and start off by installing the Fabric client. This is needed because anyone joining the server, including your friends, will need the Fabric client installed.

Next, switch to "Server" in the installer, select 26.3, and click the three dots in the server location box. Choose the Fabric Server folder you made on your desktop, and click "Install". Then, click "Download Jar", and "Generate". Everything you need to start a Fabric server is now downloaded.

After that, double-click the start file in your server folder. It will fail until you agree to the EULA. If it fails without generating an eula.txt, you will need to get Java 25 from the link above and install it. Now, open eula.txt, change eula=false to eula=true, and save it.

At this point, your server could be started with the start.bat file, but you probably want to install some mods. Make sure every mod is for Fabric and 26.3, check each mod's "Related Projects" for required dependencies, and grab Fabric API, since almost every Fabric mod needs it.

Once your mods are downloaded, open your server folder and find the “mods” folder. This is where any mods you want to add to the server will go. Drag-and-drop the mods you want to install directly into this folder. Then, select them all and copy them.

This is because you and your friends also need every mod installed locally in addition to them being on the server. To do this, go to the Minecraft Launcher, and select "Installations". Click the folder icon to open your .minecraft folder. Then, you should see a “mods” folder. If not, just make one and paste the mods from your server here. Make sure you have your friends download the mods as well and install them in their own mods folder.

From here, start your server with the start.bat file, play Minecraft with Fabric. Go to multiplayer, and add a server with "localhost" as the address. When you try to join, it will fail because the whitelist is on in 26.3 by default, so go to the server console and type "whitelist off", or use "whitelist add" with your username to be able to join. This will let you join and test the server.

For your friends to join though, you will need to port forward the port 25565. They then will use your public IP to join. Our complete port forwarding guide is linked above.

At this point though, you now know how to make a Fabric server in Minecraft 26.3. We're happy to help with any questions you may have, so make sure to post them in the comments. Otherwise, be sure to give this video a thumbs up and subscribe to the channel if you haven't already. It really helps us out, and it means a ton to me. Thank you very, very much in advance!
