RULES:
There are 2 ways to play: “Romantasy Ranking” and “Bad Romance”.

The object of “Romantasy Ranking” is to match more times than not. Shuffle the topic cards. The youngest player is the first ranker: give them a set of rank cards. Flip over 5 topic cards in a line on the table, reading them aloud as they are flipped. If the ranker doesn’t know what one or more cards mean, then discard those and flip over replacements.

The ranker uses their rank cards to secretly ranks the topics in their personal priority, with 1 being the highest, and 5 being the lowest, and places those cards facedown below each topic card. The ranker may not indicate their rankings in any way, nor can any other player discuss the cards while the ranker is deciding.

Once locked in, all the other players now take the other set of rank cards and work together to arrange them above the topic cards in the order they think matches the ranker. They are allowed to discuss and change the cards until they lock in their answer. Once locked, the ranker reveals their cards. The group scores 1 point for each correct match. The game scores 1 point for each incorrect match.

Discard the topic cards and the role of ranker rotates clockwise by one and another round is played. Once everyone has been the ranker once, the game ends. If the group scored more points than the game, then they win. If not, then they lose.

The other way to play is “Bad Romance”. The object of the game is to be the first to collect 5 trial cards. Shuffle the trial deck and place it facedown in the middle of the table. Shuffle the character deck and deal 5 character cards to each player. Place the rest of the deck facedown. The youngest player begins and is the first “master of romantasy”.

On your turn as the “master of romantasy”, draw the top card from the Trial deck and reads it aloud. Every other player must pick a character from their hand that fits the trial and submit it to you facedown. Once everyone has submitted, you shuffle the characters then flip them over one at a time, reading them aloud. Then you pick the character card you think is the most fitting, dramatic, or just plain funny for the trial.

The player who submitted the chosen character wins and collects the trial card. Each player replenishes their hand to 5. Discard the character cards and the role of “master of romantasy” rotates clockwise by one and a new round is played. Repeat this process until one player has collected 5 trail cards, then they are the winner.
