RULES:
The object of the game is to rescue 4 baby dinos in a 4-5 player game, or 5 baby dinos in a 2-3 player game. Place the 6 baby dinos faceup in the middle. Shuffle the deck and deal 8 cards face down to each player. Place the rest of the deck facedown in the middle. If anyone is dealt a t-rex, shuffle it back into the deck and draw a replacement. The youngest player goes first, then play proceeds clockwise.
On your turn, you may perform any of the following actions any number of times so long as your cards allow. One: Rescue a baby by playing 2 matching dinos to rescue that type’s baby from the middle. You cannot rescue a baby located anywhere else. Two: Steal a baby. Play 3 matching dinos to steal that type’s baby from another player. The dino whisperer is a wild and may count as any matching dino card for a rescue or steal. Three: Play an attack card and follow its instructions. You can play multiple attacks on the same turn and on the same player if they cannot defend themselves. After a card is played, it is discarded.
Cards with the shield icon are defensive cards and can be used during another player’s turn to protect you from an attack or steal. The defensive cards all say what they protect against. A defensive card is immediately discarded after use.
After performing actions, you may discard any number of cards from your hand. To end your turn, draw back up to 8 cards. If you didn’t play any actions on your turn, you must discard 1 card then draw 1. Whenever you draw a t-rex, then discard it and return one of your rescued dinos (if you have any) back into the middle, then draw back to 8. If the deck runs out of cards, shuffle the discard into a new draw deck. The first player to rescue the needed number of dinos, wins!
