How much bokeh can do you really need in landscape photography? Well, sometimes you need a lot more than f/4 can deliver, even with a medium format Hasselblad X2DII.
We go gator hunting in South Carolina but I'm blown away by the beauty of the live oaks and I manage to capture a couple of bangers.
After that we find some lovely swamp reflections and this is where the shallow depth of field comes in. I just can't get enough at f/4 to create a super blurry background. Next we get harassed by a poncey peacock who pesters me for snacks. He's all about his spectacular plumage and let's us know all about it.
Eventually we come across some beautiful gators cruising through the swamp looking for snacks, one of them looks like he's been dining on clueless landscape photographers.
Jason doesn't seem too keen on me borrowing his Sony 400-800mm so I have to settle for the 100-400mm to photograph some very chatty birds that seem to be struggling with chiggers and flatulence.
