Who knew there'd be so much treachery in landscape photography?
I make the grievous mistake of showing Thomas Heaton my test shots of Goblin Valley and they somehow get deleted. What's worse is that Amanda is complicit. I hope the ghost beads were worth it!
The day starts off pretty good with a delicious coffee in Moab but that's where the first strike of treachery begins. I'm outvoted and forced to do 'shopping' which I hate. Then there's a bunch of chores before we make it to Goblin Valley barely in time for sunset.
Then there's Tom's penchant for 'cock-shaped snacks' that might result in botulism.
Once at Goblin Valley, we split up to go composition hunting and it's totally worth the wait. I'm like a kid in candy store, surrounded by imposing pinnacles and creepy hoodoos everywhere I look.
This moody light makes for some spectacular black and white landscape photography and inspires me to coin a new phrase that I'm pretty sure will one day be famous.
Will they find their 'ghost beads' and what's it going to cost Tom to store his shattered solar panel in my side compartment?
There's really only one way to find out.
