Description
Workers and retirees could see higher health insurance costs in 2027, with industry analysts expecting double-digit increases. That may force many people to take a closer look at what coverage they need.
Premiums for 2027 could rise by as much as 10% for people who get health insurance through an employer or the Affordable Care Act, according to local financial professional Jason Houghton of Sunrise Financial Services.
Open enrollment typically happens in the fall, though exact dates vary by employer. Employees are encouraged to check with their HR departments.
For people applying for health insurance through Washington, open enrollment runs Nov. 1 to Jan. 15. For retirees, Medicare open enrollment typically begins Oct. 15 and ends in December.
