I tested the Avalon Self-Cleaning Bottleless Water Cooler Dispenser to see how convenient it is to have filtered hot, cold, and room-temperature water available without having to replace large water bottles. Real-World Use
One of the biggest reasons I like the Avalon Water Cooler is the bottleless design. Instead of having to buy, store, lift, and replace those large water jugs, the dispenser connects directly to a water supply and filters the water before dispensing it.
The included dual filtration system uses both a sediment filter and a carbon block filter. According to Avalon, the filters can last for approximately six months or 1,500 gallons before replacement, depending on usage and water conditions.
Having three different water temperatures is another feature I find really useful. I can dispense cold water when I want a refreshing drink, room-temperature water when I don't want it chilled, or hot water when I need it.
The hot water dispenser also includes a child safety lock, which adds an extra layer of protection against accidentally dispensing hot water.
Another standout feature is the self-cleaning function. It's designed to help sanitize and clean the dispenser internally, which is especially useful for something that's going to be used for drinking water every day.
There's even a built-in nightlight around the dispensing area. It's a small feature, but it makes the controls and spouts much easier to see when you're getting water in a darker room.
The dispenser also has a filter replacement indicator, so you have a visual reminder when it's time to change the filters instead of having to rely entirely on remembering when they were installed.
Avalon includes the components needed for installation, including 20 feet of 1/4-inch tubing, adapters, a shutoff valve, and a filter flushing adapter.
