This book is all about the lives and relationships of the capybaras In a herd who I came to know very well. I learnt so much about capybaras from Donguri, Donut, Choco, Aoba and all the other wonderful capybaras I met in this herd. They became very good friends.

This book includes the many extremely interesting things I have learnt about capybaras, and includes information that is not available on the Internet or in any research paper.
Chapters include: The Sounds Capybaras Make – Capybaras' Vocalisations, Calls and Barks with links to videos illustrating each different vocalisation. How Capybaras Use Their Excellent Sense of Smell to Understand and Navigate Their World. Capybaras Have Very Expressive Eyes and Faces which is partly what makes them so interesting. Keiko is trying to sleep on the bed of leaves. She can be quite bad tempered especially when one of the babies disturbs her. Syrup is displaced after Keiko's first act of aggression and tries to rejoin sleeping group when he thinks Keiko has gone to sleep. But he is wrong and Keiko gives him a sharp nip. You can see Aoba on the right sleeping on the bed of leaves. Keiko's mother was Hinase. She was born in a litter of 4, Ryoko was her sister. Tragically for Hinase, all her pups predeceased her as a result of human error.
