In this video we're previewing a new feature from the upcoming version of the Acoustic Canvas voicing visualizer in VoicingFlow.
The idea is simple, but very powerful: every note you play is mapped onto the circle of fifths, and the display shows how the partials from each note contribute to the overall harmonic color.
So instead of only seeing “which notes are being played,” you can start to see how a voicing creates areas of harmonic reinforcement, resonance, and tension.
This is especially useful for exploring jazz voicings, upper structures, rootless voicings, clusters, and dense harmonic colors where the sound is much richer than the chord symbol alone.
We’re still developing this feature, but I think it opens up a very interesting way to study how voicings actually behave acoustically.
