In part two of the complete VoicingFlow 3 tutorial, we explore Free Play mode, the Voicing Fit Report, the Voicing Balance graph, and the Acoustic Canvas.
In Free Play mode, you don’t need to open a MIDI file. You can play a voicing directly, assign a harmonic context, and let VoicingFlow analyze how that voicing works inside the chord.
We’ll look at how VoicingFlow evaluates voicings using properties like low roughness, mid roughness, spectral density, low density, acoustic weight, reinforcement, and brightness. Then we’ll use real examples to see how similar voicings can have almost identical acoustic balance, but very different harmonic fit depending on the chord context.
This video also explains how the Acoustic Canvas represents notes, octaves, the circle of fifths, partials, partial orbits, mud haze, and acoustic reinforcement. You’ll see how VoicingFlow visualizes not only the notes you play, but also the acoustic relationships created by those notes.
Finally, we’ll connect the Acoustic Canvas back to the Voicing Fit Report, showing how strong voicings, excellent voicings, partial reinforcement, and harmonic context are represented visually.
