The giant Piranha that ruled the Amazon #shorts #shortsvideo #youtubeshorts
Mega-piranha, an extinct genus of serrasalmid characin fish, lived approximately eight to ten million years ago during the Late Miocene in what is now Argentina.
Its fossils, discovered in the Ituzaingó Formation and described in two thousand and nine, offer tantalizing glimpses into the past, showcasing an evolutionary link between modern piranhas and their plant-eating relatives, pacus.
The known fossil evidence consists of a partial premaxilla and a zigzag tooth arrangement that blends traits of both pacus and piranhas.
