Description
The mission depended on long-range navigation, strict radio silence, and arriving over Bougainville within a narrow window of time. This documentary follows the intelligence breakthrough that made the ambush possible, the decision to risk exposing Allied codebreaking, the interception itself, and the later debate over who shot down Yamamoto’s aircraft. Operation Vengeance reveals how intelligence, timing, and air power converged in one of the Pacific War’s most precise and consequential aerial ambushes.
