For your suggestion about showing the graph and volume before and after the CP test, I have the following design:
Before the test, perform 5 minutes of breathing to condition the breath.
Measure the average MV and tidal volume.
Prompt to perform the breath-hold.
After the detection of the start of the first inhalation, record the CP value and measure the next 5 tidal volumes, and a graph will be freezed to show the waveforms immediately after the breath-hold.
A summary report of Measured CP, MV converted CP, and the 5 tidal volumes immediately after the breath-hold will be displayed and/or saved.
Question:
I would imaging that at the end of the CP test, as a minimum a light air hunger will be produced. Therefore, the first few tidal volumes can be accepted to up to 10% more than the average tidal volume before the test. Do you think this is reasonable? I would even consider a moderate air hunger after a proper CP test. So the tidal volume after the CP could be allowed to up to 25% of the average tidal volume before the test. What do you think? The good thing is that, with AYO BT+, we can measure these now.
I’m still keen to see the MV correlated CP could be more stable or easier to measure than the real CP test in some situations, as the longer time involved tends to remove the variations or disturbance that may be experienced in the real CP test. Besides, MV correlated CP could be done by people who don’t like the stress from the CP test.

I think that below 10% for tidal volume after the test is acceptable.
