🕰️ Historical reference:
The 1941 Siege of Tobruk from Spring to late Summer/Autumn was a defensive and strategically important Point of the North African campaign, where the international Allied forces managed to hold against the German and Italian attackers.
One of the notable defenders were the Australians, mockingly known as the "rats" by the Axis side due to their way to supply themselves in harsh conditions, ended up with this clever move to name their own men into "The Rats of Tobruk" - once a taunting response in the past transformed to an honorable and iconic title of the remaining Australian (and Polish?) veterans of today.
