Meshnology LoRa AIOT Dev Kit — ESP32-S3, GPS, Sensors & Long Range Wireless!

Description

The Meshnology LoRa AIOT Dev Kit is much more than a basic ESP32 board.

In this video, I take a first look at the board, show the built-in demo running, and go through what is actually packed onto this little development kit.

At the heart of it is an ESP32-S3R8 dual-core processor running up to 240MHz, with built-in Wi-Fi and Bluetooth BLE. Alongside that, the board includes an EBYTE E22-900MM22S LoRa module supporting the 850–930MHz band and LoRaWAN, plus a Quectel L76K GPS module with support for GPS, GLONASS, BDS and QZSS positioning.

It also has a surprising amount of onboard hardware for IoT and AIoT experiments, including 16MB SPI Flash, an SHT41 temperature and humidity sensor, QMI8658 6-axis IMU, PCF85063 real-time clock, AXP2101 power management chip, ES8311 audio codec, USB-C power and data, battery input, speaker output, JTAG debugging, reset and boot buttons, and Arduino-compatible expansion headers.

The board also supports extra hardware including LCD displays, capacitive touch screens, OLED displays, and OV2640 / OV5640 camera modules, making it suitable for sensor projects, LoRa experiments, GPS tracking, remote monitoring, dashboards, low-power devices, and wireless IoT testing.

For me, this is another seriously interesting ESP32 machine to experiment with — LoRa, GPS, sensors, audio, display support, camera support and expansion all on one compact board.

This is only the first look, but it already looks like a very capable little development kit.
