Normal mayhem will return next week. Things have been hard recently and I'm only just getting back to normal.
Weekends in rural Thailand hit differently.
We visited Rontong Cafe in Satuk District, Buriram, where there’s a huge swimming pond, water slides, families everywhere, and that brilliant Thai weekend energy where everyone just knows how to enjoy life.
It was me, Bud, and her son swimming, laughing, sliding, and having one of those simple but unforgettable days together. The water was bright green, which definitely made me wonder what I was getting myself into… but thankfully, I survived!
Afterwards, still in wet clothes, we all piled into the back of a pickup and let the breeze dry us off on the way home. Then, as if that wasn’t enough for one day, we went out clubbing in the evening.
I’m 60 years old, but Thailand has me swimming, laughing, dancing, and enjoying life like I’m a teenager again.
This is the side of Thailand I love — family, fun, freedom, and making memories.
