Maruti Suzuki has marked the first anniversary of the Victoris with a special Aurum Edition. The company also claims the Victoris reached both the 1 lakh and 1.5 lakh sales milestones faster than any other passenger vehicle in India. The Aurum Edition is not a new variant. It is an accessory kit priced at Rs. 22,990, offered only with the strong-hybrid versions of the Victoris. On the outside, the kit adds copper-coloured inserts at the front, sides, and rear skid plate designs, as well as the wheel arches. Chrome accessories go on the front grille, fenders, bumpers, body side mouldings and door visors. Inside, there are all-weather 3D cabin mats, a 3D boot mat and a sill guard for the boot opening. The strong-hybrid Victoris is priced from Rs. 16.43 lakh to Rs. 19.99 lakh ex-showroom, so the kit costs extra on top of that. Since this is an accessory package, the car itself stays the same mechanically. Under the bonnet, the Victoris strong hybrid combines a 1.5-litre, three-cylinder naturally aspirated petrol engine with an electric motor and a small battery pack with power sent to the front wheels via an e-CVT automatic. Maruti claims an ARAI mileage of 28.65kpl for the hybrid.
