Description
Bajaj Auto has launched the updated Pulsar NS200, with prices starting at Rs. 1.60 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi). Bajaj has been steadily revisiting the entire Pulsar line-up over the last few months, and the NS200 becomes the latest to receive Bajaj's makeover. The Pulsar NS200 remains powered by the same 199.5 cc, 4-valve, liquid-cooled engine as before. However, Bajaj has managed to squeeze out more performance from the engine, with the NS200 now making 25bhp (versus 24bhp in the outgoing model). The Pulsar NS200 also moves to an electronic throttle body (ETB), which now provides riders with a choice of multiple ride modes and traction control. The six-speed gearbox remains mostly unchanged, but riders will now benefit from Bajaj's Sports Shifter, which is essentially a bi-directional quickshifter. Underneath its recognisable silhouette, the NS200 makes use of a perimeter frame. Bajaj has upgraded the upside-down fork, moving from a 33mm to a 37mm unit. At the rear, a preload-adjustable monoshock carries over from its predecessor. On the technology front, Bajaj has equipped the updated NS200 with a 5-inch, colour TFT display, doing away with the semi-digital unit found on the previous model. With the updated cluster comes updated functionality, with Google Maps mirroring available as standard. The NS200's convenience factor has also seen improvement, with a Type-C USB port now provided. The NS200 also gets Panic Brake alert, which flashes the hazard lights under harsh braking.
