Description
I thought I was heading to meet Bud and her family in Sakhon Nawan.
I put the destination into Google Maps, jumped on the Honda ADV 350, and set off on what turned into an 8-hour mission to get there before them.
There was just one small problem…
Google Maps hadn’t sent me to Sakhon Nawan.
It had sent me to Sakhon Nawan Road in Bangkok.
By the time I realised what had happened, I was sitting in Bangkok, Bud had gone quiet, her family were trying to work out where on earth I was, and I was busy calling myself every name under the sun 😂
Then Bangkok decided to join in.
Google Maps took me on a wild goose chase, the rain started, I got soaked twice, got lost again, and eventually found myself on the east side of Bangkok. At that point, I made the only sensible decision which was best for everyone…
I went home.
Total distance: 902km / 560 miles in one day

This is one of those Thailand motorcycle trips I’ll never forget — mostly because I still can’t believe I actually did it.
