Description
Although seemingly simple, things can get pretty tangled if you do this wrong... so here is the method i've been using that works great. The quick guide to getting off the beach and into the water with a Parawing without soaking your canopy.
Step-by-Step Water Entry:
Beach Setup: Walk down to the water and place your board down on its nose, pointing straight toward the water.
Leash Up: Secure your leg rope/leash first while you have 2 hands free
Downwind Launch: Launch the parawing downwind of your foil. This is crucial so the canopy and lines don't blow into the sharp wings or mast.
The Carry: Put your front hand on the parawing bar, and use your back hand to grab underneath the fuselage. Walk the board into the water until it can float on the surface.
Wade Out: Wade out far enough that you can push the foil downwind of you so it doesn't strike the bottom or the parawing
Hand Switch and Go: Once you are deep enough, lay down on the board and switch your hands. Put your back hand on the parawing bar so your front hand is free to help you mount the board, drag out to deep water, and start the ride.
