Descrizione

In this video series we build my next hydrofoil board. Version 3 of my DIY foil board. A smaller more compact and lightweight board. Main goal Foil Assist, Riding waves, and Parawinging, in a lighter more fun board size. I’ve decided on a 4'5" x 19" x 3", 45 liters.

In this first video, I’m walking through the design and the game plan for the build. I’m sticking with an EPS core, two full-length Cedar stringers to give it the stiffness needed, Carbon fiber Lamination and epoxy resin. The goal is to keep it light, keep it short, and see if we can make one board that handles all the gear and stresses, but stays light and fun.

The Plan for V3:

The Shape: 4'5" length with parallel rails to help it track straight and maximse volume.
The Core: EPS foam for buoyancy, reinforced with twin Cedar stringers for structural strength.

The Lamination: Full carbon

The Mission: Designing a "crossover" board that works for Foil Assist and Parawinging that is light and fun!
