Q: Why does my board nose-up as soon as I hit the throttle?
A: This is due to the thrust vector being below the board's center of gravity. To fix this, lean further forward than you think necessary during the initial acceleration. and start by gaining speed before take off. you wnat to be close to foiling speed before breajkibg surface with the board. this minimizes lift in the nose
Q: Should I release the throttle if the motor breaches?
A: No. Releasing completely causes the nose to drop. Instead, ease off slightly to let the motor re-submerge while maintaining forward momentum. Or if your lift is subtle, maintain the same throttle and just ride it out, the ventilation will simply allow the board to slowly drop in any event. stay calm with balanced stance
Q: What is the best throttle setting
A: Use a mid-range/low gear to prevent sudden torque from throwing off your balance before you've reached planing speed. It should be just enough to plain on the water, and slightly more than you need when you are on foil. For my Manta assist with my setup that setting would be 4/10 while learning (first 4 sessions). I now ride 8/10 for normal riding
