Flukes Kitesurfing Guide 21 days ago

Description

The quick guide to the parawing downloop jibe in 90 seconds. When you're out on the hydrofoil, you don't have time to overthink the mechanics. Here are the 5 easy cues to repeat in your head to stay up on foil through the turn, and complete the downloop gybe!

5 Quick Cues to Remember:

1. Speed Check: Come in toeside with enough glide to jibe the fill 180 turn with no help from the parawing.

2. Arm Up: Raise your leading arm high to give the canopy room to move.

3. Carve: Initiate the turn smoothly with your board.

4. Twist: Twist your leading wrist down to dive the parawing into the loop.

5. Switch: Continue through the gybe on foil and switch your hands with the opposite grip in a similar location on the bar.

Tip for the Exit:
Tend back upwind quickly.Once you complete the turn and the wing is flying again, Heading upwind right away builds your apparent wind and powers the parawing back up so you don't stall out.
