Let's talk about postpartum support
I'm incredibly grateful for the support system I have this time around and shifting my mindset around "days in bed", but I also know that everyone's situation and needs are unique.
I'd love to hear what kind of support made a difference in YOUR postpartum journey!
It may be just what another mama needs to hear or try!
Here are some ways we can support new mamas because it truly takes a village!
• Food is love! We're fortunate to have @chefceejayy helping with meals (this is a luxury) but there are so many ways to make this easier: organize a meal train, host a freezer meal prep party during pregnancy with friends (bonus: precious quality time!), or stock up on easy snacks you can eat one-handed
• Taking Twenty2nutrition for my postnatal and fish oil.
• The gift of rest: Whether it's a night nurse (I've heard amazing things), family member, or friend taking the morning shift - having help with night feeds can be life-changing. But even a 30-minute power nap while someone holds the baby is pure gold!
• Real friends don't judge the mess: Learning to accept help was huge for me. When friends offer, try saying "yes" instead of "I'm fine" - whether it's letting them tidy up, take your older kids to the park, or just hold the baby while you shower
• Partner prep is everything: Have honest conversations about expectations, needs, and division of responsibilities before baby arrives. A supported mama = a more present mama
Remember: accepting help isn't a sign of weakness - it's a sign of wisdom. You deserve support, mama!
