Description
We looked at 1,000+ pitcher retests. About 140 of them came in throwing 85, and only about 1 in every 5-6 was breaking 90 within a year.
Two things separated the ones who got there:
1️⃣ Well-rounded progress. Pitchers who improved in both the weight room and their mechanics gained about 4 mph, versus about 2 for those who only improved in one.
2️⃣ They brought up their weaknesses without giving back their strengths. Both groups improved their weaknesses about the same, but the ones who didn't reach 90 gave back about 1 mph of expected velo on the strength side.
